Art and architecture, elevating the commonplace
Conrad’s design aesthetic is one of accessibility. He sculpts read-made objects, found on the selves of Loews, into wearable art a process he terms accessible-lux. His muse is the strong modern woman who views her accessories and her wardrobe, like wearable works of art.
He debuted his first handbag collection in 2012 called Hardware and received much acclaim. Elizabeth Wellington, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, called his "Toolbox" bag "the next it bag." In 2015, he has accepted as a Designer-in-Residence into the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator at Macy's Center City as a Women's Accessories Designer. Hearing the modern women's desire for a clutch that spoke to her needs for more size and a modern silhouette, he designed the BiBa Clutch. A clutch rooted in the quiet elegance of origami and formed from his love of art and architecture. Conrad transforms the small status-quo clutch into a new classic - one that is chic, timeless and modern.
Until you understand the business aspect of your business it's more of a hobby than a business and I think the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator has given me the tools in marketing, merchandising, business development, production, sales, and branding to realize my business goals.
